I didn’t know how sick you were….

To My Beloved Dog:

I regret being angry and impatient with you. I didn’t know how sick you were. When I look back, my heart breaks because your last few months should have been happier. I love you my big boy. I am so sorry that I lost you. I miss you so very much. If I could, I would bring you back to me.

I don’t know if you will read this post as your letter was written so long ago,and it is quite possible that now you have another dog,and you will not repeat the same mistakes with this one, life is a learning curve and some mistakes haunt us and we think “what was I thinking?””how could I have acted this way?”and we know we will never make those mistakes again.Although you got impatient, you loved your dog very much indeed, and he gave you his unconditional love,a love only a faithfull animal can give(my belief, not necessary yours).I know your pain, my dogs were my babies, they were my family, and I too wish I could get them back, there is a poem called”the rainbow bridge” it is a very long poem,it will be on the internet,it gives comfort to people who have lost loved pets.I can still feel my dogs aroung me and soon after their passing I heard their little noises.Take care.
