    If by making the first cut you mean you were the first one who behaved in a way that damaged an otherwise good relationship,you do not say whether you are still in that relationship or have parted from your partner,maybe something can be salvaged,as you realise you acted in a destructive way,there is not much to go on,I can only guess,and I hope I have guessed right.
